HTC has been steering clear of the tablet market since mid-2011 and they haven’t manufactured a Nexus device since 2010. They will foray once again into both markets and put and end to the silence very soon with Google’s Nexus 9. Confirmed by many news sources this week, the Nexus 9 tablet will be the flag bearer of a revamped Google and HTC partnership. This wonderful partnership has brought us great devices previously such as the Nexus One. The development of the new device has been ramping up in speed, as it has been noticed that HTC engineers have been making frequent travels between Google’s Mountain View base and their own in Taiwan.
They are definitely going to try to make a big partnership comeback as it seems they are trying to make everything perfect on the 9-inch device which is fittingly called Nexus 9.
Samsung had made a mention of the HTC Nexus 9 earlier in the year when Qualcomm was facing a patent infringement lawsuit from Nvidia. The spokesperson stated that the HTC Nexus 9 was also going to be using the Tegra K1 processor. Knowing this, it seems as though the latest Nexus tablet will be along the lines of other high end devices such as the Nexus 10 by Samsung and will be in the works to compete with the likes of the iPad.
Google and HTC are trying to keep everything undercover, but it seems like we are receiving more information every week. This basically happens with every Nexus device as Android and Google lovers alike rejoice every new device bearing the Nexus name. Eyes and ears are alert for anything Nexus and what can I say other that we’re totally excited for the Nexus 9 too!
